Skills that let families stand on their own.

Thriving communities grow when people have opportunities to build skills, earn a living and support one another. We support community-led solutions that strengthen economic security and long-term resilience.

Girls and young women at a Cornerstone empowerment event
The problem

Orphans and young women who leave school often have no way to learn a trade or earn a steady income. Without one, they depend on others, and the cycle of poverty passes to the next generation.

What we've done
Girls’ empowerment events with Cornerstone, bringing girls and young women together around health, school and confidence.
Six years of community projects funded by the founders themselves, building the trust and local partnerships this next step needs.
What is needed now
  1. 1Sewing machines, tools and trainers for trades like tailoring, carpentry and farming
  2. 2Partners and donors for the first youth skills center
  3. 3Mentors in agriculture, trades and small business
The long-term vision

Youth skills centers: places of refuge where orphans and out-of-school young women learn trades such as tailoring, agriculture, carpentry and small business management, and leave with the tools to earn a living.
