A promise made to a father, kept for a generation of girls.
The name YetmAyehu comes from a family story that began with a girl married too young, and a son who made sure it would end with him.
Three generations. One cycle we're here to break.

Studied medicine in Cuba, served Ethiopia as an OB/GYN, and now practices internal medicine in Minnesota.

The founders
Medicine, education, and a long view.
Born in Ethiopia, Dr. Yetmwork Berhanu earned the chance to study medicine in Cuba, became an OB/GYN, and served Ethiopia before moving to the United States, where she continues as an internal medicine specialist. She and her husband founded YetmAyehu, funding the first six years of work themselves.
What matters most to them: women's education, women's health, and creating opportunity.
